EDMUND LIEW YIN CHIANG

Edmund Liew is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience across sectors including insurance, oil & gas, banking, competition law, and corporate matters. He advises life insurance, family takaful, and general insurance companies on a wide range of issues, and has acted for multinational oil corporations in Malaysia's downstream business and retail sectors.
With significant expertise in multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions, Edmund also handles related debt financing, securitization, and note issuances. In banking, he represents lenders in preparing credit facility agreements, security documents, and consumer loan agreements, and provides training to banking clients. He also advises on outsourcing, payment system agreements, and has defended six general insurers against price-fixing allegations by the Malaysian Competition Commission. Edmund's corporate work includes drafting shareholders' agreements, joint-venture agreements, share purchase agreements, and business sale agreements.
